The vintage-style global sensation brings their imaginative reworkings and theatrical flair to York Barbican and Leeds Grand Theatre.

Postmodern Jukebox — the internationally acclaimed collective known for turning today’s chart hits into dazzling vintage masterpieces — will treat Yorkshire to two spectacular nights of musical time travel in 2026.

The group brings their Future Is Vintage world tour to York Barbican on 29 May and Leeds Grand Theatre on 31 May, promising audiences in both cities an unforgettable blend of nostalgia, creativity and showstopping talent.

Created in 2011 by pianist and arranger Scott Bradlee, Postmodern Jukebox began as a series of YouTube videos recorded in a small New York apartment, where Bradlee reimagined contemporary pop songs in the styles of jazz, swing, doo-wop and soul. What started as an online curiosity has grown into a global touring sensation, with more than a billion views and packed-out shows across six continents.

Audiences in York and Leeds can expect a brand-new production featuring everything from ’70s rock anthems and ’80s Britpop staples to today’s biggest hits — all reinvented with Postmodern Jukebox’s signature vintage flair.

Even movie themes and video-game soundtracks get the retro treatment, making the show accessible and entertaining for fans of all ages.

Postmodern Jukebox’s ever-changing cast of exceptional vocalists, musicians and dancers ensures that each performance feels unique.

Their concerts blend dazzling musicality with humour, theatricality and feel-good escapism, creating a night that works beautifully for families, groups of friends or anyone looking for something truly different.

Speaking about the upcoming tour, Bradlee said: “In the midst of the AI hype all around us, some folks have gone so far as to proclaim that in the not-so-distant future, all of the music that we listen to will be AI generated... we’ll gladly take the other side of that wager.

"On the 2026 Postmodern Jukebox UK/Europe/Australia/New Zealand tour, we're humbly presenting our own unique vision of a spectacular future; one that is built upon the timeless musical genres of the past and the authentically human spirit of creativity that inspired them.”

Yorkshire audiences are encouraged to dress to impress in their favourite vintage-inspired outfits — whether that’s roaring ’20s glamour, ’50s swing style or ’60s mod cool — and fully immerse themselves in the Postmodern Jukebox experience.

With soaring vocals, bold brass arrangements and imaginative reinterpretations of beloved songs, Postmodern Jukebox’s Yorkshire double-header promises to be a highlight of the region’s 2026 live music calendar.
