Project Sing: Songs of Celebration gets underway in Leeds

Following the highly successful Project Sing: Songs of Christmas, new voices have once again been welcomed to sign up for another exciting choral project in Leeds.
Project Sing: Songs of Celebration is all about learning heart-warming, celebratory songs like Vangelis’ Conquest of Paradise, Cavatina and In Dreams (the Hobbit theme) in a supportive environment, and then performing them in a glorious concert in St Michael and All Angels’ Church, 12 St Michael’s Road, Leeds, LS6 3AW on Monday June 1 2026.
There will be just four rehearsals led by musical director Andy Booth whose work as a conductor, arranger and composer is known nationally and internationally. Joining the project this time will be the talented professional guitarist Pete Rigby.
No previous experience is necessary and there are no auditions. Organisers say all that is needed is the love of singing.

Speaking about the success of previous Project Sing concerts, Andy Booth observed: “It’s both humbling and amazing to see the journey of everyone who takes part in the projects. From that first rehearsal where they are ‘full of nerves’, to singing their hearts out and being ‘full of pride’ at the end of their concert”
The first Leeds rehearsal took place on Saturday February 28 at Cragg Hill Baptist Church, 18 Cragg Hill, Horsforth.
A spokesperson for the project said: "Andy Booth will be leading “Project Sing: Songs of Celebration” in many other towns and cities across the north of England this spring.
"Everyone will be rehearsing the same songs, and each town or city will host its own memorable concert.

"This means that if Leeds singers would like to perform in a second or third concert in another town, then they can easily do that.
"If this sounds like your kind of thing, please go to www.cre8ivestation/com/projectsing/leeds find out more and get signed up for a bit of spring-time magic. We look forward to seeing you there!"
