After a year away, the much‑loved Horsforth Walk of Art is back and inviting applications from local artists, musicians, community groups and are also looking for Horsforth residents and businesses with unusual spaces and venues.

The festival will take place on 4–5 July, running from 11am to 4pm each day.

Free, community‑led and proudly inclusive, the Walk of Art celebrates creativity in all its forms, showcasing local talent in both everyday and unexpected spaces. Its mission remains simple: to inspire a community to make art accessible, engaging and joyful.

Lead organiser Kezia Roberts shared her excitement about the festival’s return: “Last year just felt strange.

"We missed our weekend so much, and we hope the wider community missed it too.

"This year we’re taking the Walk of Art back to its roots with the theme ‘Back to my routes’. We can’t wait to see how people interpret it.

"Will you celebrate where you’re from — London, Scotland, Australia, Hong Kong? What a brilliant way to share your creative culture through art, film, photography, board games or even fashion. Or perhaps you’ll play on the idea of roots themselves — trees and vegetables. Could you inspire others with a hands‑on activity, an installation, or by showing your creative process? There are so many possibilities.”

Previous festivals have featured everything from clay modelling, belly dancing and knitting to paper mâché, cake design competitions, origami, 3D printing, singing, signwriting and street art — alongside a huge range of performances, installations and workshops.

“We strongly believe in making the arts accessible to all,” Roberts added. “Creativity enhances wellbeing, builds belonging, strengthens community identity and pride, and inspires many to explore one of the UK’s fastest‑growing industries. This year will be a true celebration of the arts.”

Applications are open now until the end of March.
