Yorkshire’s young people invited to a Dance Weekender
Young people across Yorkshire are invited to join Northern Rascals for what's been dubbed "an exciting and creative Dance Weekender" in Hebden Bridge.
For just £30 - or completely free for Calderdale residents - this two-day event on January 18-19 at Hebden Bridge Town Hall offers an inspiring weekend of creativity, movement, and connection.
Led by Northern Rascals, a Calderdale-based dance theatre company, participants will explore the themes of mental health and coming of age, as seen in the company’s show, Sunny Side.
The weekend is open to 16-25-year-olds from across the region, offering a unique opportunity to learn devising and dance techniques while contributing personal insights to the development of a new documentary exploring SUNNY SIDE’s origins.

What to expect:
· Northern Rascals’ signature movement classes
· Creative workshops in dance, script, and narrative development
· Introduction to storyboarding for film

· Insights into Northern Rascals’ creative process
· Q&A with Artistic Directors Anna Holmes and Sam Ford
Anna Holmes, co-artistic director of Northern Rascals, said: "This weekender is all about giving young people across Yorkshire the chance to explore their creativity, connect with others, and experience the joy of dance in a supportive space.
"We’re especially excited to welcome Calderdale’s young people for free, as we share the world of SUNNY SIDE and work towards creating our new documentary!"
