I find shopping truly joyous.
Even if I’m simply browsing, taking a trip down the high street is a way to easily discover something new.
My favourite kind of shop is anything unique, a place that can give me a product or an experience difficult to find anywhere else.
Luckily for me, Leeds has these kinds of stores in abundance.
Here’s my list of just some of my favourite shops across the city, ranging from a bookshop on a barge to a shop where absolutely everything is 20p.

1. Glass Onion - city centre
Glass Onion is a vintage store which only arrived in Leeds in March but is already one of my favourite spots. Across two floors, you can find an array of curated second-hand fashion. | Benjamin Jackson
2. Hold Fast Bookshop - Leeds Dock
As a bookshop based on a barge, Hold Fast Bookshop is certainly unique. It offers a brilliant selection of books and the owners Victoria and Chris have fantastic recommendations. | Jonathan Gawthorpe
3. LEGO - city centre
You are never too old to delight in the joys of LEGO. Now moved into a larger space in Trinity Leeds, the city centre toyshop now has an even larger array of impressive sets.

4. The 20p Shop - Otley
By far the cheapest shop on this list, The 20p Shop is a novelty shop where everything costs 20p. Whether you're looking for books, clothes, or bric-a-brac, this place will have a bargain for you. | Google

5. Daphne's Daisies - Farsley
Flowers brighten everyone's day and Daphne's Daisies is a brilliant place to find them. It's a recent addition to the area but quickly becoming a favourite. | Gerard Binks

6. Record Plant - Farsley
A vinyl shop which doubles as a café is a great space easy to spend hours inside. With a selection of second-hand records alongside new releases, this shop caters to all vinyl lovers. | Jonathan Gawthorpe
