BDO bolsters leadership with new partner

Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO LLP has named another new partner as the firm continues to strengthen its offering across Yorkshire and the North-East.
Andrew McIntosh joins the audit team as a Partner after 15 years with PwC, where he built a wealth of experience working with growing businesses across the region.
He has a particular expertise and interest in digital audit, supporting businesses on all aspects of auditing IT systems and controls, as well as the use of data auditing techniques.
This appointment follows a sustained period of growth for the Leeds office. At the end of last year, Jeff Gardner was also promoted to Partner in the Leeds Transaction Services team after seven years as a Director at BDO. The firm also recently welcomed Ben Coggin as Transaction Services Partner and Tim Day as a Managing Director in its M&A team.
Dan Brookes, Partner in Yorkshire and North East at BDO, said:"It’s brilliant to be announcing another Partner appointment as part of our continued growth in Yorkshire and the North East and our investment in the region.
"As a local and global adviser, we have the scale to assemble the best group of specialists and sector experts from our national and international network while maintaining the ability to be innovative and understand the markets in which our clients operate. We’ll continue to invest in our people and their development to ensure we attract and nurture the region’s top talent.”
Andrew added: "BDO's reputation for helping ambitious businesses to succeed is exactly what attracted me, and the current momentum in the Leeds office was very compelling.
"What excites me most is the opportunity to work with talented colleagues, in a positive culture, while helping them navigate the shift towards digital audit techniques and advanced analytics. I look forward to supporting clients as they navigate increasing complexity, regulation and change and find opportunities for growth.”
Looking ahead, BDO UK is optimistic for the future. The organisation expects that growth in its regional locations will outpace London in the coming years, crediting its local market understanding and the performance of businesses in the UK’s regions.
