Consultancy launches to address fragmented land and planning services

A Leeds-based consultancy has launched with a clear ambition: to tackle what its founders describe as a fragmented and often confusing market for land, planning, and development services, offering landowners and developers a single point of support from strategy through to delivery.
DDR and Partners, founded by Harry Dee, Hugh Douglas-Roberts, and Charlotte Nicholson, combines planning consultancy, development advisory, and agency expertise within a single practice, ensuring the same team works with clients from the earliest stage of a project through to completion.
The integrated approach is designed to reduce risk, protect value, and ensure projects remain deliverable throughout their lifecycle.
Based at Bowcliffe Hall in Bramham, near Wetherby, the firm operates nationally but has a strong focus on Yorkshire, particularly North Yorkshire, where the founders have extensive on-the-ground experience, well-established networks, and a deep understanding of local planning policy.

The firm was created to simplify planning complexity for clients.
“Planning doesn’t need to feel overwhelming,” said Harry Dee, Founding Director, adding: “We simplify complexity with honest guidance and evidence-led strategy built for real, deliverable outcomes. Our role is to protect value and guide each project toward a confident, achievable result.”
Unlike traditional consultancy models, where projects move between departments or multiple firms, DDR & Partners operates as a single integrated team covering planning, development strategy, and land disposal, keeping knowledge and accountability in one place. This continuity, the founders say, ensures better outcomes and more efficient project delivery.
Despite launching recently, DDR & Partners has already secured a strong pipeline of instructions across Yorkshire, including planning consent for four bungalows in Baldersby, a self-build dwelling in Carlton Miniott, and land disposal projects in Boroughbridge and Northallerton. The firm is also advising on a proposed scheme for 30 dwellings in Scarborough, demonstrating its capacity to manage both small- and large-scale projects.
Hugh Douglas-Roberts, Founding Director, said: “Our aim is simple; to give landowners and developers clear, joined-up advice that turns complexity into calm, grounded confidence.”
