When will benefits be paid in February 2026?
Benefits will be paid as normal this month. There are no UK bank holidays in February, so payment schedules will not be disrupted. This applies to all major DWP benefits, including:
- Attendance Allowance
- Carer’s Allowance
- Child Benefit
- Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
- Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
- Income Support
- Jobseeker’s Allowance
- Pension Credit
- Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
- State Pension
- Universal Credit
Payments should arrive on your usual day, straight into your bank, building society or credit union account.
When will the state pension be paid in February?
The state pension is typically paid every four weeks, and your payment day depends on the last two digits of your National Insurance number:
- 00–19: Monday
- 20–39: Tuesday
- 40–59: Wednesday
- 60–79: Thursday
- 80–99: Friday
As with other benefits, there are no bank holiday adjustments needed this month, so pension payments will follow this standard schedule.
What benefit increases are coming in 2026?
From April 2026, benefit rates will rise for most claimants:
- Universal Credit standard allowances will increase by around 6.2%, above inflation (single over-25s up by about £6 a week, and couples over-25 up by about £9 a week).
- Most disability and carer benefits, including PIP, DLA and Carer’s Allowance, will rise by 3.8%.
- The state pension will increase by 4.8%, taking the full new state pension to £241.05 a week.
But the health-related element of Universal Credit will be cut for new claimants from April, with payments halved, making early applications crucial for anyone who may qualify.
