If you’re looking for a simple way to make Mother’s Day special this year, one of the UK’s biggest supermarkets is lending a hand, and it’s free.

Asda is treating Yorkshire mums to thousands of free daffodil bouquets, and all it takes is a few magic words.

The giveaway will be running in 550 stores nationwide, with each store offering 80 bunches on a first-come, first-served basis.

To claim your bouquet, simply find your local store’s community champion and say the secret passphrase: “mum’s the word.” One bunch per customer, while stocks last.

The initiative is Asda’s way of celebrating mums who often put everyone else first. A spokesperson for the supermarket explained: “Mums do so much and often forget about themselves. This Mother’s Day we want to make sure they feel special.

“Even if they say, ‘don’t worry about me,’ we absolutely are. Just pop into your local store, say ‘mum’s the word,’ and take home a fresh bunch on us.”

With Mother’s Day falling this weekend on Sunday, March 15, stores are already buzzing with themed gifts from mugs and cushions to scented candles, all emblazoned with messages like “World’s Best Mum.”

Whether you’re after a thoughtful keepsake or a bright bouquet, this promotion offers an easy way to show your appreciation without breaking the bank.

And for mums, sometimes the simplest gestures, like a handful of cheerful daffodils, can make the day feel truly special.
