Yorkshire toy collectors and pop culture fans are in for a treat, with futuristic vending machines that allow shoppers to browse and buy limited-edition collectibles coming to two of the region’s cities.
The Entertainer is bringing its interactive Pop Mart ROBO SHOPS to Sheffield and Leeds, which will be stocked with the highly sought-after Labubu, Molly, Hirono, and SKULLPANDA figures.
Unlike traditional toy shelves, ROBO SHOPS’ fully interactive experience has fuelled global excitement around Pop Mart since its 2010 launch.
Each machine houses blind boxes, meaning customers never know which collectible they’ll get until they open it. Combining art, fashion, and pop culture, the collectible range has even caught the attention of celebrities such as Dua Lipa and Rihanna.
Andrew Murphy OBE, group chief executive of The Entertainer, said: “As the global Pop Mart phenomenon and collectible toy trend continues to flourish, we’re excited to announce that 12 more of our stores will be home to ROBO SHOPS.
“The Entertainer takes its role as Britain’s toy shop seriously, which means breaking new ground to bring our customers all the latest toy trends, the world’s best-loved brands and compelling shopping experiences for customers, whatever their age.”
The rollout take place over the next six weeks, with ROBO SHOPS opening at key locations across the UK, including within The Entertainer’s stores in Sheffield Meadowhall and Leeds.
Other vending machines will be appearing in The Entertainer’s stores at Lakeside, Brighton, Newcastle Metro, Glasgow St Enoch, Bristol Cribbs, Manchester Arndale, Belfast, Cambridge, Merry Hill, and Cardiff.
