Victoria Gate Casino in Leeds has licence reinstated by Gambling Commission after 'significant action'
A casino in Leeds city centre has reopened after its licence was previously suspended over money laundering concerns.
Victoria Gate Casino, which is situated in the Victoria Leeds Shopping Centre, was closed last month after the Gambling Commission withdrew its operating licence and began a review into “significant failings.”
The commission said that during a recent assessment the casino was believed to have “failed to maintain and implement effective anti-money laundering policies, procedures, and controls, as required under the conditions of their licence”.

On Tuesday, the Gambling Commission confirmed the suspension had now been lifted following “significant action taken by the operator.”
A Commission spokesperson said: “On November 25, 2025 the suspension of VGC Leeds Limited's licence was lifted following significant action taken by the operator.
“This has included widespread changes to the casino’s leadership, AML and compliance supervisors, implementation of new anti-money laundering and safer gambling policies and procedures, improved staff training on AML and social responsibility, and a commitment to undergo an independent audit within six weeks.”
During the course of the ongoing review, the Commission will continue to monitor operations at Victoria Gate closely to ensure “full and sustained compliance” with the Licensing requirements is achieved.
Based in Leeds city centre, the casino offers slot machines, table games and electronic roulette games. It also houses bars and lounges for watching sports events and hosting live entertainment.
The 50,000sq ft “super casino” opened in 2017, and is believed to be the largest of its kind in Yorkshire.
