2025 saw Morrisons undergo one of its largest restructures in years, with almost 150 closures announced across the UK, including cafés, specialist counters and daily convenience stores.
The country-wide shake-up, which spans the whole of the UK, affected and continues to affect Market Kitchens, Morrisons Daily stores, cafés, florists and pharmacies, and more.
While the nationwide shutdowns stretch from Aberdeen to Dorset, Yorkshire is among the regions hit due to the supermarket’s historic footprint in the county (it is based in Bradford, after all).
While the overall number of national closures is large, the impact on Yorkshire is more contained — though still significant.
But how many of Morrisons’ services disappeared or are planned to disappear in 2025? Here is a comprehensive list of every Morrisons location or service closure in Yorkshire confirmed for this year.
Market Kitchens
Morrisons confirmed that all 18 of its Market Kitchen food halls would shut this year. Only one Yorkshire site is included: Leeds, Kirkstall.
Market Kitchens typically offered freshly made meals, hot food to go and street-food-style dishes. Leeds Kirkstall’s closure marks the end of Morrisons’ experiment with the format in Yorkshire.
Pharmacies
Morrisons is shutting four in-store pharmacies in 2025, though only one is in Yorkshire, located at the Bradford, Victoria store.
The closure means reduced access to in-store prescription services for customers in one of Morrisons’ key home cities.
Florists
Three of Morrisons’ florists - which supplied ready-made bouquets and bespoke arrangements - closed in Yorkshire in 2025 as the supermarket scaled back its in-store services:
- Bradford, Enterprise 5
- Sheffield, Meadowhead
- Swinton, Swinton Hall Road
Morrisons Daily convenience stores
Morrisons is closing 15 Morrisons Daily stores operated by franchise partners. Only one Yorkshire location appears on the official list, in Haxby, North Yorkshire, which closed on May 14.
This affects one of the few Morrisons Daily sites operating in a suburban village setting in Yorkshire.
Morrisons cafés
Morrisons’ cafés saw the biggest cutbacks in 2025, with a list of 52 confirmed for closures across the country. The cafés have long been fixtures of the company’s larger stores, but thankfully, only four in Yorkshire are included:
- Bradford, Thornbury
- Leeds, Swinnow Road
- Leeds, Horsforth
- Elland
Meat and fish counters
Morrisons also announced that 35 standalone meat and fish counters will shut in 2025.
No individual locations have been provided, so it’s not possible to confirm which (if any) Yorkshire stores will lose their counters. These will be assessed on a store-by-store basis.
