Retailer Morrisons is giving away complimentary slices of cake to mums and mother figures who visit participating Morrisons cafés on Mother’s Day this weekend (March 15).
Unlike many promotions that require a purchase, the supermarket’s giveaway is completely free, and means those celebrating the day can treat a loved one without needing to buy anything at all.
How to get free Mother’s Day cake at Morrisons
Any mother figure who visits a participating café can claim a slice of cake, making it an easy option for families wanting to mark the occasion on a budget.
The free treats will be available while stocks last and can be claimed directly in-store at Morrisons cafés on the day.
Customers will have several options to choose from, and classic favourites on the menu include Victoria Sponge, alongside a richer Sticky Toffee Cake topped with pecans.
For something a little different, cafés will also be serving Panettone Bread and Butter Pudding.
The supermarket says the “no purchase necessary” offer is designed to help children and families celebrate Mother’s Day even if they are keeping a close eye on their spending.
Alongside the free slice promotion, Morrisons cafés are also running a budget-friendly Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea deal. The £15 offer provides enough food for two people and includes a selection of sweet and savoury treats.
The spread features traditional scones served with jam and clotted cream, muffins and a salted caramel brownie. On the savoury side, there is also a range of sandwiches available, all served with a pot of tea.
Matt Khan, senior café trader at Morrisons, said the supermarket wanted to help families celebrate without putting extra pressure on household budgets.
He said: “Mother’s Day is all about celebrating the amazing mums and mother figures in our lives.
“We know families are always looking for ways to make special memories without overspending, so we’re delighted to offer mums a well-deserved free slice of cake in our cafés this weekend.”
Mother’s Day falls on Sunday, March 15 this year, and the offer will be available in participating Morrisons cafés across Yorkshire.
