Ilkley: Why stunning Yorkshire spa town ranks among best places to live and work in Britain
The business improvement district in a West Yorkshire spa town which is frequently ranked among the best places to live in Britain has been honoured at a major awards ceremony.
Ilkley Business Improvement District (BID) has received the Silver Award in the Community Project category at the National BID Awards 2026. The awards ceremony, held at the Leonardo Royal London City Hotel, celebrated achievements in business improvement districts from across the UK.
Ilkley BID secured the Silver Award for its Yorkshire Day Weekend, a community-focused event that took place from 1 to 3 August 2025.
Ilkley BID Manager, Sarah Brookfield-Almond said: “This recognition is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our small, but passionate, team who are committed every day to promoting Ilkley as an exceptional place to live, work, and visit.”
In 2022, Ilkley was crowned the best place to live in the Sunday Times' annual list of the UK's most desirable towns.
