Long-standing Kirkgate Market butchers put up for sale after 30 years of trade
After 30 years of trade, his much-loved butcher business is for sale
A family-run butchers which has been in Leeds city centre for 30 years is now up for sale.
JP Johnston Butchers, based in Kirkgate Market is now on the market with an asking price of
£149,950.
The butchers has been a staple in the city centre market and had a loyal customer base since it first opened in 1996.

JP Johnston Butchers is now undergoing a retirement sale, and a new buyer can purchase the full business ready to trade.
The butchers currently has an annual turnover of £767,982 and a gross profit of £178,527.
The news comes after Kirkgate Market’s popular food hall celebrated ten years in the city centre.
The Market Kitchen, which was first introduced in 2016 as part of a £14m investment from Leeds City Council, created a food court for on-site dining.
Leeds City Council has also set out a strategy to renew Kirkgate Market for the 2030s and beyond.
Ambitions include creating a STACK venue in part of the market’s outdoor area, which will feature two floors of food, drink and entertainment constructed out of repurposed shipping containers.
Market traders have argued for reduced rents to boost footfall in response to the proposals.
