New landlords reveal exciting plans to transform West Yorkshire pub into a community hub
The pub is getting a major revamp, with new owners promising food, special events and a packed calendar for locals.
The new landlords of a West Yorkshire pub are rolling out plans for food, events and even a festival to turn the venue into a real community hub.
Since taking the reins in August, Reece Marlow and his partner Troy Moxon have wasted no time making their mark on The Kettlethorpe pub.
The Horbury duo kicked off their tenure with a family-friendly open day that drew hundreds through the doors, setting the tone for what’s to come.
Reece revealed their ambitions to transform the pub into a buzzing community hub. “
One of the big plans we have is to introduce food,” he said.
Looking ahead, the couple are planning to launch Kettlethorpe Fest next year, a new festival aimed at bringing the local community together.
They also want to enhance the pub’s large beer garden by adding a children’s play area, making it a go-to spot for families.
While they’ve already completed several small refurbishments, Reece admits one of the biggest hurdles is raising awareness.
“With the pub being one of the last ‘estate pubs’, we’re hidden away, so we don’t get much passing traffic,” he said.
“We just want to spread the word that we’re here.”
Reece and Troy are inviting everyone – regulars and newcomers alike – to come and experience the pub’s new vibe.
He added: “We want this to be a proper community pub where everyone feels welcome, has a laugh and enjoys coming through the doors.”
