Primark has announced a major pay boost for its retail staff across Great Britain, benefiting more than 27,000 colleagues.
From April 1, retail assistants in England, Scotland, and Wales will earn a minimum of £13.00 per hour, with London-based staff receiving £13.71 per hour.
This latest increase means that, over the past three years, the average hourly pay for a Primark colleague has risen by more than 15 per cent.

Kari Rodgers, UK retail director at Primark, said: “As retail becomes a more demanding environment, our colleagues play an increasingly important role to support our customers and the local communities we’re part of up and down the country.
“By investing in increasing colleague pay, we hope this goes some way towards recognising their hard work, commitment and the value they bring every day.”
In addition to the pay rise, Primark employees continue to benefit from a 15 per cent year-round staff discount and a wide range of additional perks.
These include family benefits for both retail and depot staff, such as enhanced maternity, paternity, adoption, and surrogacy payments.
Primark employs over 30,000 people across the UK, including retail operations and head office roles.
The pay increase is part of a wider investment in the UK business, as the company continues to open new stores and refurbish existing locations, aiming to strengthen high street presence and attract more shoppers.
