The Box Tree Ilkley: World famous Yorkshire restaurant secures £500,000 investment

One of Yorkshire's best-known restaurants, The Box Tree in Ilkley, has secured a £500,000 investment to support a significant refurbishment.

The refurbishment will be led by award-winning interior designers Studio Two. A spokesman said the revamp will enhance the guest experience “while respecting the warmth, character and heritage that have defined the restaurant since 1962”. Following its final service on Saturday 1 August, the restaurant will temporarily close before reopening on Wednesday 9 September. Head Chef, Brayden Davies said: "This investment is a huge vote of confidence in The Box Tree and allows us to create a dining experience that reflects where we are today while respecting everything that makes this restaurant so special."

Originally a 1720 Yorkshire stone farmhouse, the Box Tree became one of the North's most celebrated restaurants, earning two Michelin stars in 1977, and establishing a reputation shaped by chefs including Marco Pierre White.
