Yorkshire family win £1,000 in housebuilders’ 90th birthday competition
A Barnsley family has won £1,000 in Miller Homes’ 90th birthday competition.
Thomas Stuart is the proud owner of a four-bedroom Maplewood home at Miller Homes’ The Fairways development in Wombwell, and entered the competition while visiting the sales centre when finalising the purchase details.
“This is an amazing surprise, and the money definitely helped when we moved into our new home,” said Thomas. “It’s great to see a business still going strong after ninety years and thanks to them we were able to add a few extra things into our new home.”
Thomas had lived in Wombwell before he purchased a Miller home. When building commenced at The Fairways, he, his wife and their two daughters aged 5 and 3, visited the development to find a home to accommodate their growing family.
The family were able to sell their existing home whilst their new one was built having reserved the property off plan.
“Hannah, at the development’s sales centre, was very helpful and guided us through the purchase process keeping us informed at each step,” said Thomas. “Now, we’re very much enjoying living in our brand-new home and look forward to creating happy memories here.”

The Fairways is located off Lundhill Road, Wombwell and the development sales centre is open each Thursday to Monday from 10.30am to 5.30pm.
