14 Emmy Awards? Martha’s Vineyard certainly doesn’t have that!

Summer might only just be fading from memory but we are already in Awards season. Boy, doesn’t it come round faster and faster each year.

It was a big night in Los Angeles as the Primetime Emmys took place in suitably glamorous fashion. And this latest episode of Screen Babble has some equally big news as well.

Before we get to the future of the podcast - and what is next for host Kelly and TV critics Matt - it is time for an instant reaction! It is almost as if we planned it perfectly!

Apple TV’s 2026 breakout horror-comedy hit, Widows Bay was the biggest winner on the night taking home an astonishing 14 Emmy Awards. You can’t say that about Martha’s Vineyard!

Lead star Matthew Rhys also pulled off an incredible double win, taking home awards in both the comedy and drama sections. Matt dives more into his storied night.

The Pitt made it two from two with another Best Drama award, while Noah Wyle also added another gong to his trophy cabinet. Will anything stop the show from becoming an eternal Emmy darling?

Meanwhile, Jean Smart took home a historic fifth win in a row for her role in Hacks. Plus Matt was hoping for more love from the voters for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms (justice for Dunk and Egg).

The episode also touches on the return of Strictly. With Matt making a very early, and very bold, prediction for the winner - hint it rhymes with Danny Dyer.

Plus there is news on the future of Screen Babble which prompts our co-hosts to look back over their favourite memories.

Thanks for all the support over the years. Here’s one for the road!
