Meet the West Yorkshire man joining the latest batch of Great British Bake Off contestants
The whole of West Yorkshire will be behind this local baker 🧁
A man from West Yorkshire will appear on the new series of The Great British Bake Off later this month.
25-year-old hairdresser Tom is one of 12 amateur bakers to step foot in the iconic tent in a bid to become Bake Off champion.
Tom describes himself as a “northern diva” who loves nothing more than creating witty, pretty, and delicious bakes.

By day, Tom works in a busy salon where his colleagues are known as his “gleeful taste-testers”, especially when the hairdresser brings in his famous salted caramel brownies.
The West Yorkshire native discovered his love for baking at an early age.
While his older brother was off at football matches, young Tom would escape to his nan’s to bake, and he even mastered the perfect brandy snap before the age of 10.
Outside of baking, Tom loves travelling and recently spent seven months exploring Southeast Asia with his boyfriend, Alex, and the pair are now saving for a house together.

This year’s batch of contestants will be judged by TV cooks Nigella Lawson and Paul Hollywood.
This will be Lawson’s first Bake Off series after taking over from famous restaurateur Prue Leith.
Viewers will be able to see Tom on screen when the 17th series of Bake Off begins on Channel 4 on September 22 at 8pm.
