Mathematics is one of the key parts of any curriculum, and children are tested on their reading and mathematical skills when they reach year 6. Schools are then given an average score mark by the Department for Education (DfE) - who say the expected score is 100.
The average scaled score is the mean scaled score of all pupils awarded a scaled score. It only includes pupils who took the test and achieved a scaled score - the higher standard is a score of 110 or over.
Using this data, the Yorkshire Evening Post has compiled a list of the 13 best-rated Leeds primary schools for maths according to the DfE in 2025.
