First look pictures as Leeds nursery in Roundhay opens newly refurbished indoor and outdoor spaces
The refurbishment marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter
A nursery in Leeds has unveiled a first look at their newly refurbished indoor and outdoor spaces.
Leeds Montessori School & Day Nursery, located on Wetherby Road, Roundhay, welcomed families and members of the local community to their annual Open Day on Friday (July 25), celebrating the exciting improvements made across the nursery.
Visitors had the opportunity to explore the setting’s newly refurbished indoor and outdoor spaces, meet the dedicated team, and discover more about the Montessori approach to learning.

Popular with parents in nearby Oakwood, the refurbishment marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the site, focused on “care, learning and community.”
“One of the highlights of the day was our fundraising tombola in support of Roundhay Environmental Action Project (REAP),” a nursery spokesperson said.

“Thanks to the generosity of our families, staff, and local supporters, the tombola helped raise funds for the charity, which works to improve and protect the local environment. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who donated prizes, purchased tickets, and supported this worthwhile cause.”
The event highlighted the hard work that has gone into enhancing Leeds Montessori, including improvements to learning environments and outdoor areas, creating inspiring spaces where children can learn, explore, and thrive.
Alongside these physical changes, new management has also been introduced in the past 12 months, bringing fresh ideas, strong leadership and a clear vision for the future.
The nursery completed an impressive Ofsted ratings turnaround in March 2025, four months after it suffered a dramatic downgrade to Inadequate following an inspection in November 2024.
