The 20 GP surgeries in Leeds with the least helpful receptionists - according to patients

Not all GP reception teams met patients’ expectations 🩺

Reception teams play a big role in our GP practice experience, from booking appointments to reordering prescriptions and inquiring about test results.

The latest GP Patient Survey, produced by Ipsos on behalf of NHS England, highlights patients’ experiences with GP reception teams across the country.

More than 700,000 patients in England completed the 2025 survey, which was carried out between January and March last year, with the results of the 2026 survey expected to be released in July.

The survey gathers information on how patients feel about their local GP and their experiences with the reception and administrative team at their practice.

Across the country, the majority of patients described their GP reception team as ‘very helpful’ (42%) or ‘fairly helpful’ (41%). However, not all GP reception teams met expectations.

Here, we reveal the surgeries in Leeds where reception teams have been voted the worst by patients. Surgeries are ranked by the proportion of patients who said the reception and administrative team at their GP practice is ‘not very helpful or not at all helpful’.
