'It's about wonderful memories' How Aston Martin made a pit stop at Leeds Children's Hospital
A Formula One team made a special pit stop at Leeds Children’s Hospital to bring smiles to little patient’s faces.
The Aston Martin Formula One team, hosted by Leeds Hospitals Charity, brought along a replica Formula 1 car to delight and inspire the young patients.
Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team driver Jak Crawford met with patients, talked to them about the car and shared insights into life as an F1 driver.
Children also tok part in a colouring competition, judged by Jak himself, as part of the nationwide tour.
The winning child will have their suit design transformed into a real F1 suit, which they’ll be invited to collect from Aston Martin HQ in Silverstone and wear with pride.
Jak Crawford told the Yorkshire Evening Post: “We bring the car for all the kids to see and all the families to come and see and we go and visit a few of the kids in the wards.
“It’s very nice and a fun thing to do to put a smile on everyone’s face.

Kaleigh Galloway and her little boy James, who is a patient at the hospital, were among those to see the Formula 1 car.
She said: “Things like this just make hospital so much nicer. It does take away from being in hospital.
“Something that is often forgotten is that it’s the whole family here too so the children get wonderful magic memories.
“But parents and grandparents, some of who are maybe having the worst time of their life, all of a sudden have something they can put in the family chat that is uplifting and positive.”
