A new Christmas installation at Harewood House invites visitors to step into a re-imagined Regency-era ball.
Titled A Glittering Invitation: Harewood’s Grand Christmas Ball, the experience has been created by interior designer Siobhan Murphy, who has been appointed creative director of Christmas at Harewood for 2025.
The historic house has been decorated to reflect the scale and spectacle of a formal Georgian celebration.
The installation begins in the Entrance Hall, where an 18-foot Christmas tree forms the centrepiece.
The tree has been constructed using around 700 second-hand ballerina tutus, creating a graduated pink effect.
Smaller rotating trees stand nearby and are decorated with pointe shoes donated by English National Ballet.
The Christmas experience is open to the public as part of Harewood House’s seasonal programme.
