Each month, dozens of cafes, bars, restaurants and eateries receive a food hygiene rating by inspectors from the Food Standards Agency.
Ratings cover how food is handled, stored, and prepared, alongside the cleanliness of facilities and how food safety is managed.
Scores range from zero to five with five meanings a food business’s hygiene standards are ‘very good’ while zero means ‘urgent improvement is necessary’.
