It’s another month, another raft of new restaurants and new menus ahead of the Autumn season, and as the heatwave (we think) has finally passed, let’s get ready for the complaints about just how cold it is in the winter months.
If there is one test of a restaurant’s mettle - at least from what I gathered since moving to Leeds - it is the traditional Sunday roast - be it heading to a carvery or gathering around your parents’ house once a week to enjoy the simpler things in life.
Three meats, lots of vegetables and could it be a proper Sunday roast without liberal applications of Yorkshire puddings?
Given how quickly food establishments come and go, we once again decided to turn to the local experts - the readers of the Yorkshire Evening Post - to find out if there have been any changes where people are sourcing the greatest Sunday plates in the city.
While we were reminded, of course, that things are subjective, one restaurant in particular earned multiple nods from our readers, and as some familiar names once again crept into the comments, a raft of new contenders also inserted themselves into the mix.
So where are we heading to in the city for the best Sunday roast ahead of the autumn months?
