First look as popular Leeds steakhouse reopens after major transformation

The new look restaurant has just reopened

Miller & Carter has reopened one of its Leeds sites after a major makeover.

The popular steakhouse has undergone a significant transformation to its dining spaces and outdoor terrace.

The steakhouse has been redesigned to deliver what it calls “the art of steak done properly”, with an updated look described as modern and sophisticated while maintaining a warm, welcoming feel.

It now has space for 144 guests across the restaurant and bar, with a further 68 covers available on an outdoor terrace.

Among the changes is a refreshed patio area featuring new garden furniture and landscaping, intended for dining outdoors, including the Miller’s Sunday Sharing Platter.

Inside, the venue has also been updated with all new windows and an upgraded roof, alongside a revamped cosy bar area and a new indoor dining space.

For group bookings, the restaurant has two private dining areas. The downstairs room seats up to 20 guests and is described as accessibility friendly, with a projector available for business presentations.

An upstairs room can accommodate larger parties of up to 70. Guests hiring either space can choose from buffet menus, with prices starting from £13.95 per person.

The restaurant’s menu continues to focus on its “field to fork” approach to beef, and Miller & Carter says it has earned “The Masters of Steak” award from the Craft Guild of Chefs.

The refurbishment coincides with the staff anniversaries of front-of-house team members, Teri Horn and Christine Linley, who have both been with the restaurant for 30 years. placeholder image

The business says this means guests can expect prime 30-day matured British & Irish steak, butchered with care and cooked to perfection.

At Miller & Carter Garforth, diners can choose from 14 steak cuts, including a Chateaubriand 16oz sharing steak, T-bone 20oz and a UK & Irish 30-day aged Ribeye 12oz.

Each steak is served with what the restaurant calls its “steak experience”, including the signature steak sauce, a classic lettuce wedge and a side, all included in the price.

The refurbishment coincides with staff anniversaries for front-of-house team members Teri Horn and Christine Linley, who have both been with the restaurant for 30 years.

General Manager Sarah Roberts said: “Our team takes immense pride in creating an environment that reflects our commitment to steak excellence. We're excited to welcome the people of Leeds to experience our field to fork philosophy in this beautifully reimagined setting.”
