Managed by the Food Standards Agency in partnership with Leeds City Council, these ratings provide a transparent look behind the kitchen doors at how your food is being handled and prepared.
During an inspection, officials assess everything from food storage and preparation to the cleanliness of the facilities and the overall management of food safety.
It is important to note that while these scores aren't a reflection of the taste or quality of the menu, they offer a vital insight into the business’s hygiene standards.
The ratings are marked on a scale of zero to five: a five-star rating represents ‘very good’ standards, while a zero indicates that ‘urgent improvement’ is required.
Throughout December, inspectors visited dozens of sites across the city, and 54 food hygiene ratings have now been published for Leeds takeaways.
From those achieving the top marks to those falling short, here is how our local restaurants and cafes fared.
