Leeds pub named third best in Britain after topping Good Food Guide list last year
The Highland Laddie on Cavendish Street was named Britain's best pub in the guide's inaugural rankings last year, just months after reopening
A Leeds pub has been named the third best in Britain after securing another major accolade in the Good Food Guide's latest rankings.
The Highland Laddie, on Cavendish Street, has now finished in the top three of the guide's 100 Best Pubs list for a second consecutive year, having claimed the top spot in its inaugural rankings in 2025.

At its second annual celebration of 100 Best Pubs, the 75-year-old guide named The Queens Arms in Eccles, Greater Manchester, the best in the country. The pub is widely recognised as the oldest passenger railway pub in the world.
The Cow in Notting Hill, London - famous for pulling pints for celebrities including David Beckham, Tom Cruise and Kylie Minogue - took second place, while The Highland Laddie claimed the bronze.
It is far from the first time the Leeds pub has received recognition from the Good Food Guide.
Last year, just months after reopening in April 2025 under new owners Sam Pullan and Nicole Deighton, the 100-year-old pub was named the best in Britain in the guide's inaugural 100 Best Pubs list.
The owner of the Good Food Guide, Adam Hyman, said: "While our industry continues to adapt to the new norm of what running a hospitality business looks like in Britain, our Best Pubs list once again shows that some of the best food and hospitality can be found in pubs."
Louise McLaughlin, marketing director at award partners Timothy Taylor's, said: "The Good Food Guide's 100 Best Pubs celebrates everything that's great about the British pub: warm hospitality, quality food and drink, character, and a genuine connection to local communities.
"These are the kinds of pubs Timothy Taylor's is proud to champion, and we're delighted to help shine a light on the publicans, their teams, and the loyal regulars who keep this important part of our culture thriving. Congratulations to all of this year's winners."
