Two Leeds restaurants added to the Michelin Guide in September
Inspectors have added 22 new entries to the Michelin Guide this month, with two Leeds restaurants among the new additions
Two Leeds restaurants have been added to the Michelin Guide as inspectors announce September’s additions to the prestigious list.
Michelin Guide inspectors have visited restaurants across the UK to add 22 new entries to the Guide this month.

Among the new additions is newly opened North Street gastropub The Smithfield, which opened at the site of the former Reliance at the start of the year, and Inlamentation, the new Boston Spa restaurant from former Michelin-starred chef Michael O’Hare.
The Smithfield, a collaboration between chef James Donovan and York-based Crooked Brewing, has made waves with its nose-to-tail approach to British cooking.
Speaking after being added to the Guide, the Smithfield team wrote: “To get this kind of recognition so early in our journey is a real honour, and one we certainly don’t take for granted.
“Thank you to our wonderful guests for your continued support. Also, huge thanks to our brilliant team. The Smithfield is what it is because of your hard work, enthusiasm, energy and diligence. This recognition belongs to you.
“We’re just getting started, and our focus remains the same: creating a welcoming space for our community, serving food and drink we’re proud of, championing great British and local produce, and contributing our small part towards Leeds’ brilliant hospitality scene.”
Chef Michael O’Hare, who previously ran Michelin-starred The Man Behind the Curtain, has also returned to the Michelin Guide with his latest venture, Inlamentation in Boston Spa.
Inspectors said: “Four seats at the kitchen counter are in high demand, while the remaining diners are spread across six tables.
“O’Hare’s signature creativity is evident across the surprise menu, while his standout Peking-style roasted duck with an intense sauce is a great example of the way he weaves a variety of Asian influences into the cooking.
“The cool soundtrack adds to the personality of the place.”
