Leeds cafe launches bottomless matcha deal with unlimited lattes after 'huge rise in demand'

A Leeds café has launched a new bottomless matcha deal - believed to be the first of its kind in the city.

Nesso Leeds, which opened in Merrion Street in October, is now offering unlimited matcha lattes for a fixed price of £9.95 per person.

The deal includes bottomless refills for 90 minutes, with customers able to choose from four signature matcha latte flavours, served hot or iced. The café wants to encourage students, remote workers and creatives to use the space to work, and offers high-speed wifi.

The team said: “We’ve seen a huge rise in demand for matcha in Leeds, especially among students and working professionals.

“Bottomless matcha is our response - a space where people can slow down, work comfortably, and enjoy properly made matcha without worrying about the cost adding up.”

Nesso, the brainchild of MasterChef: The Professionals quarter-finalist Bobby Geetha, first opened in Morley almost two years ago, and has become famed for its Italian afternoon tea and prosecco brunch.

The bottomless matcha deal is available exclusively at the new Leeds city centre branch, and includes an optional £5 add-on, allowing customers to enjoy a cannoli or cupcake with every matcha latte during their session.

Matcha, which has grown in popularity in recent years, is a bright green powder made from green tea leaves. Traditionally used in Japanese tea ceremonies, it has grown in popularity in the UK in recent years due to its health benefits, as it contains antioxidants and vitamin C.

Leeds has recently welcomed the ‘insta-famous’ Blank Street, known for its colourful matcha drinks, as well as a dedicated matcha bar at the Savvy Baker’s new city centre shop. Federal, an Aussie-inspired brunch cafe that has become famed on social media for its canned iced matcha range, also opened its first Leeds branch this week.
