First look inside Shokupan's new Leeds city centre restaurant after relocation

These 10 photos offer a first look at Shokupan’s new Leeds restaurant

Shokupan, a popular Japanese sandwich shop, opened on Central Road in Leeds city centre last week after relocating to a larger site.

Originally opening on Wellington Street in 2022, the restaurant is the brainchild of Alan and Alison Tang, who both left their previous careers to follow their foodie dream.

The menu features its popular sandos, including katsu chicken, pork and celeriac, alongside katsu curries, rice bowls, fries and rotating specials, such as the katsu chori sando.

Several customer favourites from the old venue have also been added to the permanent menu.

Speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post, the couple reflected on the first week in their new home.

"It’s a totally different vibe down here - a lot more shoppers and different people," they said. "It’s less of a stressful location - the other one was very hectic and very intense, so we’re having quite a good time at the moment."
