New Irish pub to open in Leeds city centre this weekend as Society moves to cellar

The future of Society has been revealed as Temple Bar prepares to open in Leeds this weekend

A new Irish pub is set to open in Leeds city centre this weekend, while a popular events venue will continue to operate from the building's cellar.

Earlier this week, we revealed that Society, on Swinegate, was being transformed into Temple Bar with an opening originally planned for June.

At the time, little was known about Society's future. However, the YEP can now reveal new details.

Known for hosting a wide range of events, Society will remain at the same address, but will relocate to the cellar with a new entrance instead of occupying both floors as it has since opening.

The ground floor will become Temple Bar, which promises "Guinness served properly, live music, and good times every night".

According to the operator, Temple Bar Leeds is due to open this weekend.
