Issued by the Food Standards Agency, a food hygiene rating aims to give diners clear information regarding the hygiene standards of a food business.
Food businesses are scored on a scale between zero and five where five represents ‘very good’ hygiene standards while zero means ‘urgent improvement’ is required.
The rating covers the handling, storage, and preparation of food, cleanliness of facilities, and how food safety is managed.
Across Leeds, a total of 60 cafes have been rated in the first few months of 2026.
