Historic Leeds pub building to get urgent repairs to 'preserve heritage'
The building is part of Roundhay Conservation Area
Urgent repairs will be carried out on a historic Leeds pub building next to the city’s biggest public park.
Planning consent was needed to fix stonework on listed cottages which are part of the Roundhay Fox pub site.
Leeds City Council gave the go-ahead after hospitality chain Mitchells and Butlers drew up an application for listed building consent.

A design report said defective window lintels were among parts of the Roundhay Park site in need of repairs.
The report said: “The repairs will be sensitively carried, using appropriate materials and techniques and will restore the elevation to its original appearance.
“They are urgently required in order to secure the structural integrity of the building and its heritage significance.”
The building was part of a former row of cottages, stables and coach houses known as Park Farm and part of Roundhay Conservation Area.
The report said: “The works will maintain the significance of the former Park Farm complex and the contribution that both the building, and the complex, make to the character and appearance of the conservation area and the setting of the registered park and garden.”
Council planning officers decided the scheme would have no adverse impact on the appearance of the building.
A council report said: “The site is an original outbuilding at The Roundhay Fox, a restaurant and public house near Tropical World and Roundhay Park.”
