'Why I've got a spring in my step again after Rate My Takeaway'
As the saying goes when one door closes, another opens, and this year has been full of changes.
I said goodbye to being the presenter of Rate My Takeaway. I started a new channel Danny and Gary where I get to review everything from Michelin star restaurants to the world's best KFC.
While it’s been busy, I’ve got a spring in my step again.
I quickly realised with my food reviews that people want escapism and a laugh because life can be hard. Going out for meals or even sharing a takeaway or Sunday roast at home for me is about enjoying time with loved ones.
Food talk or even sports talk is about connection and community. We all need to eat and move. With Gary Eats whom I have done the channel with we love chatting food and family.
It’s the same with my pal Jordan Gray who does private security for some of the world’s biggest sporting stars.
When he’s not travelling the world with A-listers, he is doing lots of community work, such as running men s mental health communities, and he’s even putting on Gray’s Wonderland to give families a chance to attend a Lapland experience for free in Yorkshire.
When I’m not filming food reviews, I try, and do as much community work as possible, such as helping out Silverback’s with their mental health treks.
Jordan and I have decided to spread some cheer into the new year together and do a podcast.
In it, we’re interviewing top UK sporting stars, celebrities, and influencers at different locations across Yorkshire.
We’re hoping to add some joy to the internet with our down-to-earth conversations, and we also have an Agony Uncle section.
While it looks like all fun and games, there’s a much more serious side to it, too. It’s about getting men talking about the good, the bad, and the ugly.
While many people will be gearing up for Christmas and New Year celebrations, there will be some people behind the scenes struggling to afford even the essentials. Not to mention the debt people incur come January, as well as family pressures.
Aye Up Listen ‘Ere podcast will be all about celebrating the highs and talking through the lows of life.
