  • Michelin awarded new stars to restaurants in its 2026 ceremony
  • Yorkshire restaurants JÖRO and FIFTY TWO were newly awarded with a star each
  • The restaurants offer a luxury fine-dining experience

Two Yorkshire restaurants have both received a Michelin star each for the first time, at the 2026 awards.

Held in Dublin on Monday February 9, Michelin unveiled its prestigious guide for this year as well as its newly-starred restaurants.

Every year, the finest restaurants and pubs in the country are awarded with Michelin Stars during the event, but the culinary giant also highlights recommendations in its Michelin Guide, which is regularly updated.

JÖRO in Sheffield and FIFTY TWO in Harrogate, both received a star for the first time.

Michelin said of JÖRO: “The cooking is pure and occasionally playful, with the quality ingredients treated with respect and understanding.”

The guide described FIFTY TWO as: “theatrical”, and said: “the semi-communal tables face the chefs as they craft their creative surprise tasting menu, which is filled with assured, technically skilled dishes informed by their homegrown produce (from the 52 raised beds) and the preserved ingredients that line the shelves.”

If you would like to pay a visit to these newly-starred restaurants, we’ve pulled together a guide on how much it will cost, and what is included on the menu.

JÖRO

JÖRO offers three different tasting menus, as well as a Sunday lunch set menu. Its cheapest menus include the Express Tasting menu and the Sunday lunch, which are priced at £55 per person. It also has a Midweek Tasting Menu for £75 per person. For a more luxurious dining experience, its Signature Tasting Menu is available for £125 per person.

The sample menus include dishes such as cornish bluefin tuna, Japanese-style milk bread, Chalk Stream trout, salt aged Yorkshire beef, and much more. It also offers Vegetarian and Pescatarian versions of its menus.

FIFTY TWO

FIFTY TWO offers three different tasting menus across the week, as well as a Sunday lunch menu. Wednesday’s tasting menu is six courses for £65 per person, Thursday’s is 10 courses for £125 per person, and Friday and Saturdays is also 10 courses but for £190 per person. Its Sunday lunch includes six courses for £85. All of the tasting menus can be paired with wine for an extra charge.

There is no set menu as the restaurant asks you to “place your faith” in the chef's cooking skills, who use high-quality ingredients from the kitchen garden.
