'You had me at butter chicken': New India Bistro opens in Chapel Allerton
You had me at butter chicken- a new modern Indian dining experience has opened in Chapel Allerton.
India Bistro, which was founded in India where it has a series of established restaurants, promises a fresh, modern interpretation of Indian dining to the city. Located in the neighbourhood of Chapel Allerton, the restaurant offers a relaxed, contemporary setting that blends warm, earthy tones with artisanal touches inspired by India’s block-printing heritage, from wall art to bespoke crockery.

The menu celebrates the rich culinary landscape of India, featuring an extensive selection of small plates, chaats, grills, biryanis, and flavour-packed mains.
Signature dishes include Tandoori Seabream marinated in mustard-yogurt and turmeric, Butter Chicken in a tomato and fenugreek sauce, and Champaran mutton cooked with whole spices. Vegetarian highlights range from Paneer Tikka Biryani to the sweet and spiced Sakarkand ki Chaat. Freshly baked breads, such as Truffle & Cheese Kulcha, Laccha Paratha, and Tandoori Roti, are prepared in the in-house tandoor.

India Bistro Leeds features an open fire kitchen and a fully heated terrace, seating up to 120 guests. At the bar, guests can enjoy a curated selection of cocktails and mocktails inspired by the diverse flavours of India.
Leading India Bistro’s UK expansion is Navin Chauhan, President of Restaurants at Foodlink Global, who said: “India Bistro is built on a respect for Indian culinary heritage and a love of hospitality that feels both personal and familiar. We’re thrilled to bring this concept to Leeds and offer a dining experience that is bold, flavourful, and welcoming.”
