'You will be much missed': Beloved independent Leeds Malaysian restaurant set to close its doors
The Headingley restaurant is set to close its doors tomorrow
A much-loved independent Leeds restaurant has announced it will be closing its doors this weekend.

Serving authentic Malaysian food owners Bart and Herman opened the branch in Headingley in 2019.
A post on the restaurant’s social media page said: “Thank you to all our customers and team that made Kuala Lumpur Cafe possible across the last few years.
“After a long consideration we have decided that our last trading day will be Saturday, October 17.
“If you have a booking after Saturday, October 17, we’ll be calling you over the next few days.
“It has been our pleasure to serve Malaysian food to the community.
“Best Regards KL Cafe.”
Customers reacted to the news on social media with one commenting: “Thank you for your wonderful hospitality and delicious food over the years. You will be very much missed in Headingley.”
He added: “Thanks ever so much for all the yummy Malaysian food and the warmth Malaysian hospitality all these years.
“As a fellow Malaysian, you guys bring a peace of home for me in Headingley .”
It comes after the Horsforth branch of the Kuala Lumpur officially closed its doors in 2023
Speaking to the YEP at the time, owners Bart and Herman, described the closure as a decision made with a ‘heavy heart’ but that they were left with little choice.
They said: “The increased cost in ingredients, energy and everything is the main driving force behind the decision. We just weren’t performing at the level to match the costs. “
