Historic Leeds private school for sale after shock closure last year
A private school which was open for over 100 years is now for sale
A private school in Leeds has been listed for sale for an undisclosed price.
Moorlands School, located on Foxhill Drive in Weetwood, closed at the end of 2025 due to VAT fees and rising budgets.
The private school, which educated children aged two to 11, was first founded in 1898, making it the oldest private preparatory school in Leeds.

It was initially located on Otley Road in Headingley, before expanding and moving to Weetwood in 1967.
Eight months after its closure, the Moorlands School building has now been listed for sale on Rightmove with estate agent Newmark, offering a freehold development opportunity for a new buyer.
The site extends across 3.62 acres including 31,017 square feet of accommodation, including a Victorian main building, sports hall, swimming pool and extensive landscaped grounds.
Suggested new uses for the site in the advert include for education, residential, retirement living or specialist care, subject to necessary planning consents.
To find out the exact price of the Moorlands School land, a prospective buyer must contact Newmark directly.
