Inside this high end fringe-of-Wakefield home with cottage and underground tunnel

Set behind automatic gates, the house has a long driveway with extensive views over neighbouring agricultural land.

Styled and crafted over many years, the striking property includes an impressive breakfast kitchen with an array of built-in appliances, and an island with breakfast bar.

There’s an exceptionally large sitting room with a stone fireplace, a gas coal-burning effect fire, and two sets of bi-folding doors to the front, followed by a second lounge or games room with its own bar.

Following on is a lovely family room with full height beams and timbers, and a wood burner on a stone hearth, plus an exposed stone wall.

A big garden room with a full bank of glazing, and sliding back doors, adjoins the gym and home office, and there are fitted out utility and boot rooms at ground floor level.

Five bedrooms with fabulous views include three with their own en suite facilities, then there's a large house bathroom with a double ended bath and separate shower unit, and an upper floor playroom with Velux windows and under eaves storage.

Stunning gardens and grounds adjoin a rear courtyard area, across which lies what the agents describe as a superb annexe, The Mistle Cottage, comprising a living and dining kitchen plus a utility, and a deluxe en suite bedroom.

There are numerous parking areas and superior garaging with the house, that stands within a much sought after location that's handy for the M1, close to Wakefield amenities, and surrounded by lovely countryside with local villages.

The underground tunnel to the eight car garage is described by the agent as 'extremely well presented and a fabulous feature'.

The Mistle Barn and Cottage, Black Bull Farm, Midgley, Wakefield, is for sale at £1,750,000, with Simon Blyth, Barnsley, tel. 01226 731730.
