Yorkshire property: The 22 cheapest places to buy a house, based on price per sqm

You get more house for your money in some parts of Yorkshire than almost anywhere else in the UK

The average house in Yorkshire and the Humber is now worth £207,750, having fallen in value by 0.2% over the last year.

But how much space you’re actually getting for your money varies hugely depending on where in the region you’re looking.

In some parts of Yorkshire, £200,000 will buy you well over 100 square metres of property, while in others you’ll get less than half that.

The Propertistics website ranks areas across the UK according to the average house price per sqm.

Below are the cheapest places to buy a house in Yorkshire per sqm.

Three of the six cheapest places to buy a house are in Bradford, despite its having been the UK City of Culture for 2025, with a thriving culinary scene and breathtaking countryside within easy reach to boot.

The cheapest places per sqm include parts of West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire and North Yorkshire.

The figures are for parliamentary constituencies, and are calculated using average house sizes based on property listings and registered building data.

Some of the constituencies listed are historic constituencies, included for comparison purposes.
