'Gorgeous': The 7 most expensive streets in the North, with average house prices up to £6 million

The UK’s most expensive streets outside London have been revealed, with an average house price of up to £6.7 million.

They include seven streets in the north of England, in Liverpool, Leeds, where four streets made the list, Newcastle and Greater Manchester.

Mortage brokers at Mortgage Lane analysed around 3,000 recent property sales in each of the 40 largest cities across the UK, using data from OnTheMarket, to compile a list of the country’s 29 most expensive streets.

Central London streets were excluded from the results to prevent them dominating the table.

The most expensive street outside of London, according to the findings, is Charlbury Road, in Oxford, with an average house price of £6.68 million.

But three streets in the North feature in the top 10, with an average price of between £3.8m and £6m.

The most expensive street in the North, the study found, is in the sought-after Liverpool suburb of Mossley Hill, where residents have included the Queen frontman Freddie Mercury and Sex in the City star Kim Cattrall. It’s been named Liverpool’s happiest place to live, with one person calling it ‘gorgeous’ and another describing it as the ‘safest, most pleasant part of the city’.

Below are the most expensive streets in the North on which to buy a house, according to Mortgage Lane, listed in reverse order.
