Property prices have generally fallen in the county’s most affluent areas, with up to 24%, or £150,000, wiped off the value of a typical house in the space of a year.
Yet the average house price in the 9 most expensive neighbourhoods across Yorkshire still ranges from £450,000 to £540,000, which is almost double the UK average of £273,000.
One area in particular has bucked the trend of falling or stagnating property prices.
That is the North Yorkshire neighbourhood of Linton, Tollerton and Raskelf, where the average house price has soared by 25.5% in a year, to £450,000.
Set in beautiful countryside, yet with easy access to York and Harrogate, they combine rural charm, community spirit and a rich history.
Between them, they boast a great selection of traditional pubs and independent shops and cafes, and offer a peaceful way of life, yet with all the amenities you need.
Below are the nine areas of Yorkshire with the highest average house prices, including parts of South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire and North Yorkshire, listed in reverse order.
The list is based on the latest Office for National Statistics data, published in October, for the year ending in March 2025.
