The UK’s property hotspots where homes are selling fastest have been revealed - including three places in Yorkshire.
The average time taken to sell a property in the UK during 2025 was 38 days, according to Zoopla, up from 35 days in 2024.
Homes in Scotland tend to sell much faster than those elsewhere, as properties there are listed with a valuation and survey already completed.
The average time to sell is just 13 days in Falkirk, West Dunbartonshire, North Lanarkshire and East Ayrshire.
In England and Wales, the fastest-moving markets are in Sunderland, Bedford, Knowsley and Carlisle, where homes take on average 23 days to sell.

Three Yorkshire towns and cities feature in the top 30 areas across England and Wales where homes are selling fastest.
In Barnsley, the average time to sell is 28 days, the joint 13th fastest; in Sheffield, it is 29 days, the joint 21st fastest; and in Rotherham, it is 30 days, the joint 27th fastest.
Barnsley town centre has benefited from huge regeneration in recent years, including the popular new Glass Works shopping and leisure destination.
One person said: “Barnsley town centre has recently been transformed, it's wonderful now. You'll be very, very surprised, as most visitors are, just how nice the centre of town is.”
‘One of the best villages in the county’
Outside of the town centre, many people recommended Mapplewell and Darton as two of the best places to live in Barnsley.
One person said: “I work all over South Yorkshire and beyond. and Mapplewell is easily one of the best villages in the county.”
Another person said Mapplewell and Darton had a ‘great community feel’, ‘great schools’, ‘loads of wonderful pubs, nice parks, and loads of shops and restaurants’.
Darton is just six minutes from Barnsley by train, and less than 40 minutes from both Sheffield and Leeds.
Barnsley has the 14th healthiest high street in the UK, according to a recent study by Excite OOH, ahead of Leeds (30th), Doncaster (32nd) and Sheffield (34th).
Away from the town centre, Barnsley boasts spectacular countryside, with the wonders of the Peak District on its doorstep.
The historic market town is a great place for families, too, with 19 primary schools rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted, according to Zoopla.
