Following its debut in 2024, the festival has become a staple on the Pontefract farm’s calendar, with thousands of visitors travelling from across the country.
Now, the festival has returned and is running until Sunday, May 3.
This year, 600,000 bulbs were planted, which means that in addition to the 517,000 individual bulbs planted last year, there are now more than one million tulips across the fields.
These consist of 100 different varieties of all shapes and colours that arrived directly from the Netherlands.
Visitors are able to pick their own bouquet, enjoy numerous photo opportunities, try some Dutch food and listen to live music as they walk through the fields.
Following its success last year, Farmer Copleys was awarded the Rural or Farming Event of the Year for its Tulip Festival at the the Yorkshire Post Rural Awards 2025.
In response to the win, Heather Copley, co-owner of Farmer Copleys, said: “We started the Tulip Festival to bring people into the countryside, to show the beauty of nature and give families a memorable experience as well as a slice of the Netherlands right here in Yorkshire.”
Every Saturday, the farm will also host ‘sunset sessions’, which are brand new for 2026 and allow guests to explore the tulip fields in a different light.
