A new season and the promise of warmer weather have arrived, and with it, the RSPCA Leeds, Wakefield & District branch, a hope that means new beginnings for the animals in their care.
The East Ardsley centre is currently home to a wonderful variety of characters, from resilient ‘bright spark’ dogs looking for a sofa to snuggle on, to bonded pairs of cats who have spent their whole lives side-by-side.
As a separately registered charity, the branch relies entirely on the support and big hearts of the local community to find these residents the forever homes they deserve.
Whether you are looking for a loyal senior companion or a playful duo to fill your home with life, one of these 14 faces could be your perfect match.
Take a look through our gallery below to meet the residents currently waiting for a home this month.

1. Max (Staffordshire Bull Terrier - 3 years old)
A clever lad with a huge personality, Max is a bright spark who loves to learn and play. Despite his tough past as a working dog, he is incredibly resilient and super-affectionate. He is looking for a patient, cat-free home where he can continue his training and find a permanent spot on a comfy sofa for snuggles. | RSPCA

2. Buster (Toy Poodle - 11 years old)
Buster is a gentle, older gentleman seeking a quiet retirement. He can be shy at first, but once he trusts you, he’s a loyal companion who loves nothing more than a warm lap. He’s looking for a calm, adult-only home where he can enjoy slow walks and plenty of peace and quiet. | RSPCA

3. Garry and Larry (Domestic Longhair crossbreed - 1 year old)
This comical pair of brothers are never far apart, whether they’re wrestling or napping. Larry is the long-haired star who loves a groom, while Garry is a gentle soul with a sweet "hello" meow. They are looking for a fun-loving home where they can stay together and explore the outdoors. | RSPCA

4. Mimi (Domestic Shorthair crossbreed - 4 years old)
A handsome tuxedo boy and a total softie, Mimi just wants to be by your side. He’s had a tough time with other cats in the past, so he’s looking for a peaceful, adult-only home where he can be the only pet, enjoy plenty of head-nudges, and relax on a cosy lap. | RSPCA

5. Sammy, May, and Stevie (Domestic Longhair crossbreed - 10 years old)
These three inseparable senior sisters have been together since they were kittens. From Sammy’s playful nature to May’s affectionate nudges and Stevie’s love for a sunny spot, they are a calm, comforting trio. They are looking for a quiet golden years home where they can stay as a team. | RSPCA

6. Tilly (Domestic Shorthair crossbreed - 2 years old)
Tilly is a curious lady who hates to miss out on the action. She’ll always pop over to see what you’re up to before settling down for a long, peaceful snooze. She’s a lovely, adaptable girl looking for a calm home with plenty of cosy spots and the occasional treat. | RSPCA
