That’s the appeal the organisation is making over the “Twixmas” period, as a number of their feline friends are looking to make the move from (hopefully) temporary accommodation with the team and their foster families to a more permanent home in the city.
Adopting during the New Year isn't just about giving a cat a fresh start; it’s about the unique companionship they bring to your own resolutions.
Whether you’re looking for a quiet "lap cat" to join you for cosy winter evenings or a playful kitten to bring energy to your household, the Leeds branch has a variety of personalities waiting to meet their match.
If you have a space on your sofa and a place in your heart for one of the eight you see here, you can find more information on the cats and the adoption process at the Cats Protection Leeds & District website.
The process begins with an online inquiry, followed by a chat with the dedicated rehoming team.

1. Freddy (Domestic Short Hair)
Freddie came into care after his owner passed away. He is a very friendly young boy who loves attention He can be a little nervous at first, but once he is settled, he will be straight over for some fuss. He is looking for a new home where he can be the centre of attention. | Cats Protection Leeds

2. Mittens (Domestic Short Hair)
Mittens came into our care as his owner could no longer keep him. He is a very friendly and affectionate boy who likes to tell you about his day. He has a strong purr to let you know that he is enjoying the attention. He has a grade 3 heart murmur, for which the staff can give you more information. He is now looking for his new home, where he will be the only cat. | Cats Protection Leeds

3. Kitty (Domestic Short Hair)
Kitty is a lovely senior girl who sadly came into care as she was not accepting of a new baby in the household. We will be looking for a child-free household for Kitty where she can spend a relaxing retirement having all the attention to herself. Kitty takes a little time to warm up to new people, but when she does, she is a very loving cat. Kitty does have some osteoarthritis in her back and takes a daily medication. | Cats Protection Leeds

5. Elton John (Domestic Short Hair)
Elton John needs to be rehomed with his brother, Elvis. Elton is a confident, outgoing cat with a big personality and an even bigger heart. From the moment he walks into a room, he knows he belongs there. He's curious, playful and full of energy. | Cats Protection Leeds

6. Morth (Domestic Short Hair)
Morth came into care because his previous owner was not allowed to have pets on their property. He has never been outdoors before, so when the time comes, he will need a gentle and gradual introduction to the outside world. At this stage, the team are unsure how he would cope with children, babies, or other pets, so any future introductions should be handled with care. | Cats Protection Leeds
